A 12-year-old boy is being sued by his aunt for breaking her wrist when he leaped into her arms to welcome her to his birthday party.
The case was brought up in a New York court yesterday however, the incident took place in 2011.
The aunt, Jennifer Connell who is a human resources manager in Manhattan is demanding US $127,000 in damages from the boy, whose mother died last year.
Connel claimed her nephew acted unreasonably with his exuberant greeting which caused her to fall and break her wrist.
She admitted that she did not complain during the initial stages of her injury, however it has become increasingly difficult for her to carry out daily activities such as traversing the crowded Manhattan streets and holding her plate.
An American newspaper reported that that the 12-year-old appeared confused as he sat in the courtroom with his father.
