Sean Paul wins 2013 MOBO Reggae award |
For the second year running and fifth time in his career, Sean Paul has won a Music of Black Origin (MOBO) award for Best Reggae Act.
The Grammy-winning Reggae artist, who was not present for the MOBO Awards ceremony in Glasgow, Scotland Saturday night, secured the award in a category, which included nominees such as Mavado, Popcaan, Tarrus Riley and British-based singer, Stylo G.
Having copped the award in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2012 respectively, the Greatest Gallissinger copped the award thanks in large part to charting twice on the U.K. singles charts with hits such as The Other Side Of Life as well as What About Us, a collaboration with British pop group, The Saturdays.
Past winners of the Best Reggae Act award at MOBO, an award ceremony celebrating urban music in the U.K and worldwide, include Gyptian, Alborosie and Shaggy, who hosted the show in London in 2007.
