Jazz dos & don'ts |
The Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival is held under the starry skies of Trelawny in Jamaica. Therefore, it is critical to be prepared.
1. Be ready to have fun!
2 Walk with a blanket. Folding chairs or lounge chairs are a must. 3 Come early and secure a great parking spot and don't miss any of the performances. 4 Do not leave your ticket! 5 Go to the ATM and get cash. You might want to sample the tasty treats on sale. 6 Do not walk with any weapons as they are not permitted on the grounds. 7 Secure hotel reservations in advance. Many hotels close to the venue and even five miles away are booked from as early as August - five months in advance. 8 The show starts at around 6 p.m. and ends in the wee hours of the morning. Comfortable shoes are essential. Wedge heels and stylish sandals are appropriate. Stilettos and grass do not mix, ladies. 9 The festival is held outdoors, and with the cool winds coming from the north, expect a bit of a chill. Therefore, be prepared by packing a shawl cardigan, jacket and/or sweater.
