Jamaica’s Alia Atkinson has placed fourth in the 100m breaststroke.

Alia swam her way to 1:06.93 a short while ago inside the Aquatic Centre in London. Alia entered the final with a new national record of 1:06.79 seconds following swim-off with Canadian, Tera Van Beilen. Atkinson was forced into the swim-off after a dramatic tie in her semi final with Van Beilen. Both swimmers had clocked 1:07.48 seconds. The 23-year-old, who resides in the USA had earlier clocked a national record 1:07.39 to win heat three of the competition. Atkinson, swam from lane eight in today’s final. Source: Jamaica Gleaner |
