Unbelievea-bull: Girl Rides Showjumping Cow |
A 15-year-old girl whose parents refused to buy her a horse started showjumping with the next best thing - a cow.
Resourceful Regina Mayer turned to the animal, called Luna, to fulfil her dreams of riding after she was denied a pony.
Hours of training have left Luna able to jump makeshift hurdles of beer crates and logs. "She thinks she's a horse," said Regina, who lives in Laufen, southern Germany.
The pair began with gentle walks in the woods before Regina introduced Luna to a saddle.
A few months later, the teen hopped on her back for the first of many rides. Now they spend most afternoons together when Regina comes home from school.
Luna has milked the relationship for all it is worth - in return for showjumping and galloping exercises, she is rewarded with regular grooming and treats.
