Marley won for his 18-track album Stony Hill.

“This is now the fourth Grammy win for Jr Gong in five nominations, so it’s a very impressive record that he’s establishing. I congratulate him on this latest success. It’s not only a win for Jr Gong, but victory for Jamaica’s reggae music. We’re very happy that the reggae Grammy is coming home to Jamaica,” said Grange.

Grange also commended Chronixx who was being nominated for the first time, and Morgan Heritage who were being nominated for the second time.

In 2001, Marley won Best Reggae Album for Halfway Tree. Then in 2005, he won Best Reggae Album for Welcome to Jamrock and Best Urban/Alternative Performance for the title track of that album.
