3,000 Jamaicans could gain employment in US PDF Print E-mail

There are indications that some 3,000 Jamaicans could gain employment in the United States Overseas Hospitality Programme this year.

This represents a near 50 per cent increase in the number of Jamaicans who were employed under the programme last year.

Labour Minister Dr Fenton Ferguson made the announcement on Wednesday when he hosted five US recruiters in Montego Bay.

According to Ferguson, the increased employment forecasted for this year is a clear sign that the hospitality sector is on the rebound.

The recruiters were in Jamaica seeking to identify some 260 persons to work in the hospitality sector in the states of North and South Carolina, Georgia and Michigan.
