|Strains of marijuana bearing Julian Marley’s name to be available|
Julian MarleyMarijuana bearing the name of Reggae musician, Julian Marley will reportedly become available in the United States in 2015.
A report earlier this week on streetinsider.com says Marley and Kingsley Brand, his official licensor and owners of his likeness, has partnered with the company Drop Leaf to create several strains of the herb, called Julian Marley JUJU Royal Premium Marijuana. Marley has long been an advocate of decriminalizing marijuana and promoting its healing properties; this as some American states have decriminalized the herb, such as Colorado, Washington DC and Oregon, while Jamaica drafted a bill seeking for the decriminalization of marijuana in October.
The British-born musician is quoted as saying about the move, “I am happy to speak out in favour of decriminalisation and I salute Drop Leaf as a proud participant in the movement and struggle to make this natural super plant available for all who need it and it’s healing properties.”
Drop Leaf is currently working with DNA Genetics; conducting research and development with origin seeds to create the Marley brand of weed. Once created, these strains will be made available to dispensers and caregivers in countries where the drug is legal.
The son of Reggae legend, Bob Marley, Julian Marley is known for songs such as Boom Draw, Positive Vibrations and Violence in the Streets.
