Bolt gives up Man United appearance...

World's fastest man Usain Bolt will have to wait a little longer for his dream debut with favourite English Premier League club Manchester United, following a schedule clash with the IAAF World Championships.

Reports coming out of England had suggested that Bolt was in line to make an unofficial appearance for the club at a testimonial game for defender Rio Ferdinand against Sevilla. With the match set to take place on August 9, a day before the heats of the 100m in Moscow, it will be impossible for the sprinter to make an appearance, a fact confirmed by the sprinter's agent Ricky Simms.

Bolt, a huge fan of the of the club, has long expressed an interest in donning the gear of the Red Devils, and is said to be disappointed at missing out at the opportunity.

Ferdinand, who has spent 11 years at Old Trafford, had jokingly promised, via Twitter, to put in a good word for the sprinter with then Man U boss Alex Ferguson last season, after the sprinter had expressed an interest in having a trial with the reining Premier League Champions.

With the ominous form of United States sprint star Tyson Gay heading into the World Championships, the sprinter will no doubt have his hands full as he aims to claim the sprint double. Bolt will be looking to regain the 100m title he lost to teammate Yohan Blake at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, and claim a third consecutive 200m title.
