The 2013 edition of Miss Universe Jamaica, the pageant which determines Jamaica’s representative in the annual Miss Universe pageant will not be held following a shift in leadership, according to reports.

The Miss Universe Jamaica final, scheduled for this past Sunday at Emancipation Park in Kingston did not take place. On Monday, Dimitris Kosvogiannis, owner of the Miss Universe Jamaica franchise announced his resignation from the post.

Kosvogiannis became the official rights holder of the Miss Universe Jamaica franchise in November 2011, taking over from PULSE model agency chairman, Kingsley Cooper, who ran the event for two decades.

This year’s edition of the event would have been free to the public.
