Campbell-Brown targets New York return PDF Print E-mail

Olympic Games and World Championship medalist Veronica Campbell-Brown plans to return to the IAAF Diamond League meet in New York this year.

Campbell-Brown has confirmed in an interview on New York radio that she will be running in the 200m in the May 25 event at the Icahn Stadium on Randall's islands She will be competing at the meet for the first time since the 2010 season when she beat American rival Allyson Felix in the 200m, running 21.98 seconds, the meet record and the fastest in the United States in almost 10 years.

 

Campbell-Brown, who won the bronze medal in the 100m at last year's Olympic Games in London and was fourth in the 200m, is one of the most decorated female sprinters ever with 18 global medals.

 

Affectionately called VCB by her fans, she is also down to compete at the Jamaica International Invitational in May.
