Students 'Drug Professor With Weed Brownie' PDF Print E-mail

Two students have been arrested in Colorado after allegedly giving cannabis-laced brownies to unsuspecting classmates and a professor.

 

The pair are accused of serving up the cakes as part of a "bring food day" at the University of Colorado.

 

Police were called after an unnamed history professor needed hospital treatment, complaining of feeling dizzy and losing consciousness.

 

Two students in the class were also treated by medics, reports said, while several others fell ill.

 

Local newspaper The Daily Camera said 21-year-old Thomas Ricardo Cunningham and 19-year-old Mary Elizabeth Essa had been detained on charges including second-degree assault.

 

CBS-affiliate KCNC in Denver said the lecturer and the students had all recovered.

 

The station reported University of Colorado spokesman Bronson Hilliard as saying: "Anybody who thinks this is cute, anybody who thinks that this was funny, is going to face pretty severe sanctions."
