Jamaica to host NACAC Cross Country Champs PDF Print E-mail

Regional track & field powerhouse Jamaica has been chosen as host for the 2013 North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Cross Country Championships.

 

Jamaica, for the first time, will take over from Trinidad & Tobago, the host for the last four years for the January 25, 2013 event.

 

Minister with responsibility for sport Natalie Neita-Headley made the announcement during the launch of 2012 Reggae Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k at the Altamont Court Hotel in Kingston on Wednesday.

 

Minister Neita-Headley said "this championships will include 31 countries from across the region."

 

USA, Canada, Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica are among the top teams set to compete for several titles in the Junior Women's 4K; Junior Men 6K; Senior Women 6k and Senior Men 8K.
