Fraser-Pryce strikes silver and Parchment takes bronze PDF Print E-mail

Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has won silver medal in the 200m final in a personal best 22.09 at the London Olympics.

 

Fraser Pryce was early off the curve with her compatriot Veronica Campbell Brown.

But they were chased by Americans Allyson Felix and Carmelita Jeter.

Felix won in 21.88.

Jeter was third in 22.14.

Campbell-Brown who finished fourth in 22.38 was looking to win a record third consecutive gold medal in the event.

 

Hansle Parchment broke the national record twice this afternoon enroute winning a bronze medal in the 110m hurdles.

He ran 13.12 in the final to better his 13.14 recorded two hours earlier in the semis.

America’s Aries Merritt won gold in a personal best 12.92 while his team mate Jason Richardson was second in 13.04
