Diplomatic Language Services (DLS), a 25-year old company based in the Washington, DC metro area that provides language and cultural training and other related language services to US government and commercial clients.
DLS is a fast-growing and dynamic organization offering exceptional career potential.
They currently have openings for qualified linguists in Haitian-Creole, and Jamaican Patois. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents in order to apply.
Translators will provide one or more of the following support services:
• Monitor foreign language communications and perform verbal and/or written summaries into English
• Translate target language documents into English
• Transcribe target language communications into written English
• Translate orally either consecutively or simultaneously from target language to English and vice versa
• Review translation, transcription, or other performed by another individual for quality control purposes
Required Qualifications
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency
• Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years
• At least 1 year of experience in monitoring, translation or related field
• Ability to pass a proficiency test in the target language(s) and English
• Ability to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
