Bolt, Blake make Athletics gala final PDF Print E-mail

Two Jamaicans, double World Record holder and IAAF 200m champion Usain Bolt and IAAF World 100m champion Yohan Blake are among the three men who were chosen as the finalists for next week's 2011 World Athletics Gala in Monaco where the Athletes of the Year will be named.

 

The Racers Track Club teammates who were also part of the Jamaican team that set the new World Record of 37.04 seconds to win the 4x100m race in Daegu, South Korea in early September, will join reigning Athlete of the Year David Rudisha of Kenya

A third Jamaican IAAF World Championships 200m champion Veronica Campbell Brown did not make it to the women’s finals after her second straight nomination.

The announcement will be made during the 2011 World Athletics Gala, which will take place in Monaco, on 12 November 2011.
