In third place was Nickel Ashmeade, who crossed the finish line in 19.91, while Ainsley Waugh placed sixth in 20.57. Mario Forsythe did not finish.

The Jamaicans dominated in the men's 100m.

Usain Bolt, 9.76, crossed the finish line in first place and claimed the world's new leading time. Nesta Carter, 9.89, took second and third went to Lerone Clarke, 10.05.

USA's Justin Gatlin placed fourth in 10.12.

Meanwhile, Veronica Campbell-Brown, 10.85, claimed second in the women's 100m behind USA's Carmelita Jetter, 10.78.

Trinidad's Kelly-Ann Baptiste placed third.

In the women's 400m, Jamaica's Novlene Williams-Mills placed second in 50.72, while her team mate Davita Prendergast took sixth in 52.12. Meanwhile, Allodin Fothergill placed 4th with a time of 45.51.

Team USA took the top four spots in the 100m hurdles, leaving Jamaica's Brigitte Foster-Hylton to take fifth in 12.91, and Isa Phillips placed seventh in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 49.41.
