Jamaicans advance in 100m, 400m and 110 hurdles PDF Print E-mail

Kerron Stewart and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce are the fastest Jamaican qualifiers unto the next round in the women's 100m after posting the fourth fastest time in the heats with an easy 11.13. Veronica Campbell-Brown, 11.19, and Jura Levy, who qualified as one of the fastest losers with, 11.34 are also through.

 

Jermaine Gonzales won his 400m heat in 45.12 to while Riker Hylton, 45.54 are also through to the next round. The latter finished fifth in his heat but still made it through as one of the fastest losers.

All three Jamaicans are through to the next round of the men's 110m hurdles.

National Record Holder Dwight Thomas, 13.31, was second in his heat to fellow medal contender Jason Richardson, 13.19, while Andrew Riley was third in his heat with a time of 13.47. Richard Phillips 13.53 was fourth in his heat but advanced as one of the fastest losers.
