Canada sending troops to help Jamaican army PDF Print E-mail

Canada will send three tactical helicopters and 65 Canadian Forces personnel to support the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) during this hurricane season.

 

Canadian defence minister Peter MacKay announced this morning that the operation, codenamed 'Jaguar', will undertake critical life-saving tasks both inland and over water, starting this Friday.

 

The mission will wrap up at the end of November — the end of the 2011 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
