The '1D - Ten - T' error

I declare I am not computer savvy and most technology is way over my head. Well I was having trouble with my computer, so I called Eric, the 11 year old next door. Eric is lanky, but eats like a horse and whenever he comes over I bake bread pudding and he just loves my lemonade.

If you see Eric’s room ... it looks like mission control, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control and he is always fiddling with every little gadget.

Well Eric came over and by the time I went to get the lemonade from the fridge, he was going back through the door, saying “Finished.”. I was surprised, it was as if he simply winked at the computer and was on his way out.

So I asked him what the problem was.“Oh, it was an ‘I.D. Ten T’ error”
I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, "An, ID ten T error? What's that? In case I need to fix it again."

Eric grinned.... "Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?"

"No," I replied. "Write it down," he said, "and I think you'll figure it out."

So I said “ID Ten T” and then wrote it down - I D 1 0 T

You know, I think I can recall a time when I used to like that boy
