2010 Hurricane Season Expected To Be Harsh PDF Print E-mail

The 2010 hurricane season, which began yesterday, is being forecast to be a tough one.

Forecasters say 2010 storms could wreak havoc this year on both nature and on the current BP oil spill.

William Gray, who predicts hurricanes annually, said Tuesday, `This looks like a hell of a year.`

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is predicting 14 to 23 storms with 14 developing into hurricanes. Three to seven are forecasted to be Category Three or above hurricanes with winds of more than 110 miles per hour.

The 2010 hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, 2010.
