Antonio Banderas Takes On Bob Marley |
Spanish-born actor, Antonio Banderas, is taking on a version of a popular Bob Marley song in his latest film.
Banderas, who turns 50 this year, returns to the big screen as the suave and charming orange cat Puss-In-Boots in Shrek: Forever After, the fourth and final installment of the blockbuster series.
The actor, film director, film producer and singer does a more mellow version of Marley`s `One Love` in the movie.
`The version that we did was just me singing and a Spanish guitar, softer even than Bob Marley`s version`, commented Banderas. `I knew the song perfectly, by heart. I grew up on Bob Marley, and my wife (Melanie Griffith) never lets us take a car trip without some of his music in the car.`
Shrek: Forever After opens in 3-D everywhere on May 21st. `One Love/People Get Ready,` was song by Bob Marley & The Wailers from their 1977 album Exodus. It was first recorded in a ska style by Marley`s original group, The Wailers, on their 1965 debut album, `The Wailing Wailers.`
