Islamic DVD Delays Jamaican Flight |
Islamic content has been blamed for a December 31, 2009 delay of a Virgin Atlantic flight from Jamaica.
Jamaica Airport official say the DVD was found on the plane and led to the re-screening of dozens of passengers boarding a flight for London.
John McFarlane, security chief at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, declined to specify the content of the disc but said he was told it `was Islamic` and it made the flight crew `uncomfortable.`
Jamaica, like many countries, has increased security at its two main airports following the Christmas Day bombing attempt by Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab of a Northwest Airlines flight bound for Detroit.
