A luxury revolving hotel that offers guests a different view every morning and evening has been designed in Croatia by British architects.
 The rotating hotel aims to offer guests a full spectrum of views Photo: SOLENT NEWS The multi-million pound project, which is due to be completed within two and half years, was designed by London-based architects Studio RHE.
The idea was dreamt up to solve the problem of giving every guest a sea view from the hotel on the island of Solta, Croatia, and relies on engineering expertise from the shipyards of nearby Split.
The 61m (200ft) three-storey rotating section of the hotel, which contains 50 suites and is based on a turntable in the middle of a purpose-built swimming lake, will rotate 1.3 times per day.
A static central hub, which is 22m (72ft) across, will contain the reception area. Guests will enter the hub from underground and use a lift to reach a walkway to their accommodation on the spinning section.
Architect Richard Hywel Evans, who specialises in holiday resort design, said the movement was so slow that guests would not be able to feel it.
Mr Evans, 48, said: "We believe this is a stunning example of how creative, exciting and bold design can and should be.
"In the case of Solta Island the need was simple – every guest should be able to enjoy the breathtaking view and our rotating design provides just that.
"You can go to bed with one view and wake up with another."
The full development includes a new, 170-berth marina plus yacht club and the resort will feature guest pavilions and villas as well as the hotel.
It is understood the whole project, commissioned by Croatian property developer The Profectus Group, will cost around 70 million pounds. - telegraph.co.uk
