UK Visa fees reduced PDF Print E-mail

The British High Commission has announced that it will be reducing its applications fees for visas to the United Kingdom.

The British High Commission says the new fees will take effect tomorrow, September 4.

In early July, the British High Commission introduced significant increases in its visa fees; with some applications almost doubling.

Applicants for a six-month or a single entry UK visitors visa application will now pay $10,400, which is $500 less than what now exists.

The cost of a five-year visitors visa application moves down by $2,000 to $62,000.

It will now cost $77,500 for a 10-year multiple entry visa.

The British High Commission says it will now cost $90,700 for a settlement visa.

In the meantime, Jamaicans who travel through the UK en route to another destination will have to pay $7,200 for a transit visa.

In June this year the UK government imposed a transit visa policy for Jamaicans.
