Like many Jamaicans all over the world today, I am bigging up and beating my chest. And, no, I am not beating it till it is black and blue, but because it is green, black and gold.
Yuh ever hear when country people talk bout yuh glad bag buss, or yuh heart string tan up? Well that is the sense of pride jamaicans are feeling this morning bout our 'big man bout di place' Usain Bolt. I am all the way in Edmonton, Canada and the Jamaican community here is excited, everybody literally holding dem own personal party orcongregating with friends. Of course today I am sporting my green black and gold t'shirt, just mekking sure for all who never know say mi is 100 percent Jamaican and 100 proud. And every opportunity mi get fi talk bout Olympics and Jamaica, mi meck sure talk it and talk it up loud. One Korean woman in a restaurant this morning told me congratulations (yuh woulda believe say mi did run inna di race), mi no business, mi a walk and kin my teet today. Chat-Bout also wants to say nuff big up to Trinidad on coming second... trust mi ... oonoo large. So wherever you are in the world today, if you have something green, black and gold, wear it, wear it wid pride, big up yuh chest, because nobody can take away the fact that you are a proud Jamaican. - The chat-bouter in Edmonton, Alberta. |
