The Jamaica Arts Development Foundation (JADF) is on a mission to create educational and developmental opportunities for Jamaica’s arts and entertainment community worldwide. Its aim is to implement programs and activities geared toward education, management, and creative excellence.
JADF President Lloyd Stanbury was instrumental in bringing together Jamaica’s Nice Time Productions and Kingston’s acclaimed Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts (EMC), resulting in a three-year full tuition scholarship beginning in September 2010. The recipient of the Nice Time Scholarship will be a student participating in EMC’s music department. Shirley Hanna, Executive Director of Nice Time Productions, recently presented a commitment letter to EMC Principal Burchell Duhaney. Nice Time President Fernando Garcia-Guereta is open to future collaborations, and said, “I am happy for this opportunity to contribute to the provision of training for talented Jamaicans.”
